The objective of the University of Luxembourg Foundation is to support academic and scientific activities, as well as initiatives of general interest of the University of Luxembourg.

The creation of the foundation allows the University to significantly advance within its activities through the reinforcement of its external financing. These funds can be used for different purposes such as:

  • scholarships funding for deserving or needy students

  • financial support for scientific conferences

  • funding of research projects

  • funding of a research chair


By means of its foundation, the University also hopes to attract additional international funding.
 


Comprised of five individuals, an independent Management Committee evaluates the various projects and decides on the allocation of the financial resources. This committee includes Prof. Jens Kreisel, Prof. Dr. Eric Tschirhart, Mr. Marc Lemmer, Mr. Philipe Lamesch, Mr. Ken Fukino and Mrs. Tonika Hirdman.
