Emergency Program in Yemen

Delivering food, water, education, health care and protection to the children in Yemen

The current war in Yemen has led to one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. 22.2 million people, almost the entire population, 11.3 million of which are children, are in need of humanitarian assistance covering the most basic human needs including health care, medications, safe water, food and schools. Moreover, due to the collapse of public services as a result of the war in Yemen, most public health care employees have not received their salaries for a whole year.

The Maßvoll Stiftung supports UNICEF’s emergency program in Yemen, which is comprised of six     different programs aimed at nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, child protection, health, education and awareness raising. Through these programs children with severe acute malnutrition are being     treated, uninterrupted access to safe water is ensured, lifesaving education on the risks posed by mines    and explosives is provided and the access to primary healthcare is improved. In addition to this, the     program also provides vulnerable children with psychosocial support, family tracing/reunification and victim assistance.
