Created by a young couple, the Fondation Régénial pays tribute to their late son who passed away at age 4 from a brain tumor. Through their foundation, the couple wishes to raise awareness of rare pediatric diseases, such as DIPG, support pediatric cancer research across Europe, as well as contribute towards pediatric palliative care in Luxembourg and Belgium.
Through these actions, the founders hope to ensure that children affected by terminal disease and their families may receive quality palliative care, allowing them to share moments of comfort, connection and joy. At the same time, through research, they seek to improve and prolong the quality of life of children affected by rare neurological cancers such as DIPG, so that they may have happy and healthy lives.
"Régénial" is a French word invented by the founders' late son, meaning "Rigolo et Génial" (funny and great), and which he used very often. They honor him by including this mantra in their lives.
