March 14, 2023 – The Schleich-Lentz Foundation signed an agreement with the Fonds culturel national Luxembourg (FOCUNA) to establish two scholarships: one to promote artistic creation in ceramics and the other to support archaeological research in Luxembourg.

Founded by Mrs. Schleich-Lentz in 2015 as a dormant foundation, the Schleich-Lentz Foundation became active in 2016 following the passing of its founder. Supporting students and artists was a cause close to Mrs. Schleich-Lentz’s heart, as she was surrounded and inspired by the fine arts throughout her life. Influenced by her father, the painter Corneille Lentz, as well as by her uncles who were architects and musicians, she was also a ceramist, practicing her art in the studio adjoining her home in Limpertsberg.

Together with FOCUNA, the Schleich-Lentz Foundation is launching this first edition of scholarships and invites ceramic artists and archaeologists to submit their applications. The scholarships will be awarded following the submission of an application to FOCUNA, which will set up a jury of experts responsible for the pre-selection of candidates. The final decision on the award of the scholarships will then be made by the Management Committee of the Schleich-Lentz Foundation based on the jury's pre-selection. For each scholarship, the selected application will receive a prize of €20,000.
