2017 Scholarships of the Pierre Werner Foundation

The purpose of these scholarships is to support research and study projects related to European unification, monetary issues, democracy, or human rights across all countries on the European continent.

During the meeting of the Pierre Werner Foundation's Management Committee held on 30 June 2017, it was decided to award the 2017 Pierre Werner Scholarships to four candidates. This decision was based on the recommendation of the pre-selection jury from the University of Luxembourg, composed of Prof. Stefan Braum, Prof. Gerkrath, and Prof. Neugebauer.

The selected candidates are:

  • Mr. Dimitrios KAFTERANIS (Greece), for his research on “The protection of whistleblowers under EU law: towards a new legal framework.”
  • Mr. Ditmir SUFAJ (Albania), for his study “Impact of macroeconomic variables on stock market performance across EU member states.”
  • Mr. Olivier VOORDECKERS (Belgium), for his project “The single supervisory mechanism: towards a new interaction between European and national legal orders.”
