The Centre Biergop in Manternach offers vulnerable young adults safe, structured and supervised housing in which to rebuild stability and independence. For many residents, arriving at Biergop marks an important turning point: a moment to pause, breathe, and begin again after periods of social, psychological, or personal difficulty. Within this supportive setting, they are given the time, space, and guidance needed to regain confidence, rediscover their strengths, and gradually shape a new sense of direction. Daily life at the centre blends practical routines with individual support, learning opportunities, and personal development, helping each resident move step by step toward autonomy, training, and professional integration.
As part of this holistic approach, a section of the Biergop’s property is being revitalised and transformed into a vegetable garden. More than a simple green space, this garden is becoming a place of learning, responsibility, and connection. By working with the soil and following the rhythm of the seasons, residents discover the basics of gardening and develop a deeper respect for nature. They experience the satisfaction of seeing their efforts grow into something tangible, strengthening their sense of usefulness and self-worth. At the same time, the garden raises awareness of healthy, balanced nutrition and encourages greater independence through the ability to grow and care for their own food.
This new initiative reflects the deeper values of Biergop’s work. It supports young people as they learn to take responsibility, nurture their talents, and build lasting self-confidence. Through shared effort and daily commitment, residents develop autonomy, a sense of security, and the freedom to imagine and pursue a more stable and fulfilling future.
