2018 Scholarships of the Pierre Werner Foundation

The purpose of these scholarships is to support research and study projects related to European unification, monetary issues, democracy, or human rights across all countries on the European continent.

During the meeting of the Pierre Werner Foundation's Management Committee, held on 5 June 2018, it was decided to award the 2018 Pierre Werner Scholarships to three candidates. This decision was based on the recommendation of the pre-selection jury from the University of Luxembourg, composed of Prof. Ligeti, Prof. Gerkrath, and Prof. Neugebauer.

The selected candidates are:

  • Ms. Selen ARLI YILMAZ (Turkey), for her research topic: “Evaluating the impact of selected EU policies in terms of GHG emissions in Luxembourg towards EU targets.”
  • Mr. Ioannis ASIMAKOPOULOS (Greece), for his topic: “The ‘retail challenge’ to bail-in: financial stability vs consumer protection.”
  • Mr. Panagiotis ZINONOS (Cyprus), for his project: “Constitutional identity(ies) and primacy within the constitutional system of the European Union.”
