William Kentridge Exhibition

The Loo & Lou Foundation is supporting the latest exhibition of the artist William Kentridge (b. 1955, Johannesburg) at Mudam.

The exhibition at Mudam - Musée d'art moderne Grand Duc Jean will run from February 13th to August 30th, 2021. As the first monographic exhibition by William Kentridge in Luxembourg, it is dedicated to both new and recent work by the artist and includes a mix of drawings, works on paper, sculpture, film, sound and video installations.

William Kentridge's work is characterised both by his own biography and the history of his native South Africa. Through this perspective, and with a range of medium, including drawings, large scale sculptures and video and sound installations, he creates a narrative around the themes of history, the fragmentation of time, collective memory and absurdity.

The exhibition is the focal point of the second edition of the red bridge project, a collaboration between Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, Philharmonie Luxembourg and Mudam Luxembourg.
