The Fondation Notre Dame, dedicated to the preservation of the cultural and architectural heritage of the ‘Cathédrale Notre Dame de Luxembourg’, supports the renovation of the Cathedral’s organ.
On July 2nd, 2020, a full restoration began on the main organ of the Notre-Dame de Luxembourg cathedral. The organ was built in 1938 and, with 106 registers, is the largest ever built in Luxembourg. The aim of the project is to restore the great organ to its former glory as both a sacred and cultural symbol for the country of Luxembourg. The Austrian company “Rieger Orgelbau” is in charge of the restoration work, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
