The aim of the foundation is to support medical research in the area of cancer and epilepsy.

The founder, a Danish citizen who lived more than twenty years in Luxembourg, created the Vera Nijs & Jens Erik Rosborg Foundation in memory of his wife who died from skin cancer. The foundation became active in 2015 following the decease of the founder and aims to support medical research in the area of cancer and in particular skin cancer and epilepsy.

The foundation may further support projects promoting education in East Africa and in Rwanda more specifically.
