What are the approaches and impacts for foundations involved in the health sector?

The Fondation de Luxembourg regularly organises Round Tables with the founders and representatives of foundations sheltered under its aegis, with the aim of encouraging lasting dialogue between philanthropists and stimulating collaboration and the sharing of experience.

This year, we invited foundations active in the field of health, whether through projects based in Luxembourg, such as raising awareness of cardiovascular disease and setting up art therapy workshops for patients in convalescence, or in developing countries, with, for example, support for a programme to improve maternal and child health in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Discussions focused on issues such as the importance of foundations in bringing innovative public health initiatives to the attention of public authorities, the central role of skills transfer in ensuring the sustainability of projects in developing countries, and the challenges of digitalising the world of healthcare.

The Round Table ended, as it does every year, with lunch, during which the discussions continued on an informal basis.

The Hosted Foundations represented at this event:

Fondation du Pélican, Fondation Coeur Daniel Wagner, Fondation Marie Jeanne & Edmond Schumacher, Fondation La Violette,Vera Nijs & Jens Erik Rosborg Foundation, Fondation Jos et Mimieke, Fondation Marthe et Camille.
