With the aim of fostering a collaborative approach to philanthropy, the Fondation de Luxembourg regularly organizes roundtable discussions with the founders and representatives of foundations hosted under its aegis.
This particular roundtable, held at the headquarters of the Juniclair Foundation, focused on the theme: "How can philanthropy foster dialogue within societies?" About ten founders and representatives of hosted foundations active in fields such as education, social impact, the arts and humanities, and science gathered to reflect on their role as philanthropists in relation to society and the challenges it faces.
Discussions explored key topics, such as the value of visiting supported projects to better understand the specific social and cultural context of each initiative, and the importance of identifying a sustainable exit strategy. The role of innovation in the philanthropic sector was also a central point. Philanthropists, it was noted, have the freedom to encourage and support innovative approaches to problems that public institutions may not be able to tackle in the same way. In this sense, philanthropy can serve as a dynamic laboratory for solutions, contributing to the creation of a more just and harmonious society.
As in previous years, the roundtable concluded with a lunch, offering participants the opportunity to continue the conversation in an informal setting.
