Social Entrepreneurship and, more broadly, the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), are topics increasingly embraced by economic, political, and social stakeholders—yet their exact definitions and implications often remain unclear.
With this in mind, the Fondation de Luxembourg organized an event on February 8 aimed at wealth managers in Luxembourg, to explore and discuss these evolving concepts.
Michel Sanitas, founder of the PRAIRIAL Foundation under the aegis of the Fondation de Luxembourg, was invited to share his insights. He explained the concept of social entrepreneurship and presented his philanthropic journey—from the creation of a hosted foundation to his discovery of social entrepreneurship, and ultimately his strong commitment to supporting those who are developing economically viable solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s societal challenges.
Arnaud de Ménibus, CEO of the “philanthrepreneurs” network Entreprendre E+, then took the floor to present the origin, functioning, and support structure of the network for social entrepreneurship project leaders. Through advice, mentorship, funding, networking, and guidance for scaling up, these entrepreneurs are no longer left to face challenges alone. Thanks to such support structures, they significantly increase their chances of success.
Finally, Nadine Muller, President of 6zero1, Luxembourg’s first social incubator, shared how the country is actively working to foster the emergence of this promising sector.
