In 2021, the Fondation de Luxembourg reached the 300 million euro mark in philanthropic commitments thanks to its growing network of local and international donors. This represents an increase of over 20% since 2020.

To commemorate the founder and visionary behind the Pélican Grants and Post-doc Awards, Mr. Pierre Hippert, previous grantees and collaborators from the University of Luxembourg came together in a video highlighting the past 10 years of support.

The 2021 Pélican grants have been awarded to five students and will cover travel expenses for their research stays abroad.

Mrs. Yuriko Backes, Minister of Finance, has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondation de Luxembourg. She succeeds Mr. Pierre Gramegna, who held this position since 2014.
