Supporting young documentary filmmakers in Israel as they take on topics of social importance.
The Israeli Docu Forum fosters the talents of young filmmakers in Israel, helping to launch the next generation of artists in a country with a strong film culture and industry. Budding artists are supported with tools and training to develop their vision and carry out their projects.
Young filmmakers are selected by a rigorous selection process based on both talent and the topics chosen, for example immigration, disabilities, gender, or religion. Each year, a new group of participants is selected to take part in intensive workshops that accompany them in writing, shooting and producing a documentary film.
Through the films produced annually, the Israeli Docu Forum seeks to reach new, diverse audiences, encourage critical thinking, while also reinforcing and professionalizing the communities of young documentary filmmakers in Israel.
