The Luxembourg Institute of Health is the first supplier of public health information in Luxembourg, enabling public authorities to make decisions based on scientific data and to communicate validated data to international research institutions.
In this context, through its Laboratory of Experimental Cancer Research, the LIH is using animal models to reproduce and study human malignancies such as breast cancer or melanoma. The monitoring of disease development in mice using non-invasive methods is preferred for animal welfare. The acquisition and use of the ultra-sound imaging system therefore avoids causing animal stress while increasing the quality and the reproducibility of results.
