Thanks to a partnership between the Fonds Culturel National and the Fondation Michelle, young classical music talents once again thrilled Luxembourg audiences at a concert event.

On Wednesday 22 May 2019, for the fourth and final time, the winners of the Michelle Foundation Scholarships performed at a Gala concert in front of around a hundred people gathered in the remarkable setting of the LALUX auditorium in Leudelange.

Hy-Huu Dang on saxophone, young tenor Alexander Gebhard, Cathy Heidt on violin, Tom Feltgen on cello and Johan Perdigao on piano delighted the audience for an hour. Finally, the contemporary music ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin performed a work created by Alejandro Mata as part of the Composition Grant awarded by the Michelle Foundation.

This exceptional evening of musical diversity highlighted the richness and dynamism of the Luxembourg music scene, and much more besides.

After five years of commitment, the Fondation Michelle, a foundation under the aegis of the Fondation de Luxembourg, is coming to an end, having distributed 170 grants to 130 young talents, so that music can shine in the Grand Duchy and beyond its borders.

For the past 5 years, the Fondation Michelle, under the aegis of the Fondation de Luxembourg and in partnership with the Fonds Culturel National, has been supporting young classical music talent. This support was made possible by the founder of the Fondation Michelle, a classical music enthusiast who wanted to support the emergence of tomorrow's classical artists in Luxembourg.
