Rebuilding a life after experiencing poverty can be particularly challenging for those already in vulnerable situations. To support Luxembourg's most at-risk populations, a new programme in Esch-sur-Alzette provides a protected and supervised working environment, guiding participants as they reintegrate into a structure routine and adapt to the collective norms of society.
The "Atelier des Possibles", run by Sourrire ASBL, helps beneficiaries move beyond their status as welfare recipients and regain their independence and responsibilities. During a 6 to 12-month period, participants may gain experience in different professional paths, in addition, they make take language courses and learn to care for their physical and mental well-being.
In this way, l’Atelier des Possibles bridges the gap between the mental health support offered by Sourrire's other programming and sustainable, professional integration. It provides essential support to people who are still too fragile to enter the job market directly and enables them to acquire the skills, confidence and endurance necessary for their professional future and stability.
