Providing affordable tutoring to students in need

School tutoring is a known factor of increased social inequalities: as it is only subject to the law of supply and demand, families with the highest income can afford more lessons, and may be selective among more renowned tutors. The Luxembourg-based societal impact company, Nyki, proposes a new model to reduce these inequalities, and which offers tutoring to students in need at discounted rates based on family income.

Overall, a third of Nyki's students benefit from discounted rates, and in turn benefit on average from more weekly hours that families paying the standard price. This helps children to catch up with all the difficulties they have accumulated, while allowing Nyki to  meet the demand from students in need and ensure that their tutors are paid for the sessions they provide.
