Supporting the expansion of an autism center for children in Ethiopia.
Despite the prevalence of autism, finding suitable educational and treatment options for children with the disorder is a challenge that many families face. In Ethiopia, adequate solutions are even harder to find, which is why the Nehemiah Center in Addis Abeba has made it its mission to provide holistic care, guidance and assistance to children with autism and related disabilities.
Through specific programmatic approaches tailored to the needs of the children, families, and the
community, the center currently supports 60 children with inclusive education and rehabilitation needs. With the support of the Estafanos Beshay Fund for Vulnerable Children, the center will be able to expand its operations to accomodate more children from the community.
