Scholarships for research in biomedicine or biotechnology.
Every year, since 2011, the Fondation du Pélican grants scholarships towards several promising graduate students from the doctoral School for Systems and Molecular Biomedicine at the University of Luxembourg.
The doctoral School for Systems and Molecular Biomedicine provides high-quality research training to Ph.D. candidates and offers complementary training to Ph.D. students to complete their knowledge and skills required for their future career development. The interdisciplinary programme of this doctoral school is linked to the research programmes of the University’s Life Sciences Research Unit, the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) and the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH). Bringing together biologists, computer scientists, mathematicians and physicists, the programme aims to offer early stage researchers training, tailored to their specific needs.
The grant can be used to finance research stays in external laboratories and travel support (e.g. for courses, conferences, etc.). The aim should be to increase the quality of research and advance the grantee's research project.
