Médecins Sans Frontières provided medical care to migrants in Serbia
Thousands of migrants and asylum seekers are travelling through the Balkans on their way to northern Europe. Living in very harsh conditions, medical assistance is one of their most urgent needs.
Since last year, Médecins sans Frontières runs mobile clinics and distributes specially designed transit kits containing essential relief items to numerous people. The kits contain hygiene, food and survival items in order to address the needs of people in transit. The most common health problems encountered are respiratory and skin diseases – mostly due to the cold weather and poor sanitary conditions.
